Communion

During Jesus' days on earth, eating together was a very intimate form of fellowship. It represented a close bond then, and it still does today when we receive it together with God and each other. At GWC, we serve communion during one Sunday morning service each month. In 2012, we're set to serve communion on the following dates:
  • January 15
  • February 26
  • March 18
  • April 22
  • May 20
  • June 24
  • July 15
  • August 26
  • September 16
  • October 28
  • November 18
  • December 23

I Corinthians 11:24-26 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

Water Baptism

Baptism is a great picture of our new life in Jesus, and in fact He commanded us to be baptized. Though the rite itself does not save us, it does prove our salvation since it shows our willingness to obey Him. Our next water baptism service is set for Sunday, March 4, 2012, at 5:30 PM. Interested? Please sign up by calling us at 281-580-8806 or email us now: staff@gwc.cc

Romans 6:3-5 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.

Child Dedication

Prayer can transform. It can change destiny. We believe that's what happens when we publicly dedicate a child to the will of God. It also presents a chance for parents and family members to commit to raise the child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, (Ephesians 6:4) summoning His help along the way. At GWC, we dedicate babies during Sunday services upon request, presenting the family with a certificate during the service. Do you have an older child whom you've never formally dedicated? We're happy to include older children, too. To schedule your child's dedication, please contact our office at least 2 weeks in advance.  Our next child dedication is Sunday, December 11, 2011 @ 10am.
