From the desk of Pastor John Greiner
In a 1953 vision, Jesus told the late Kenneth E. Hagin the secret to receiving from God. He said that if anyone anywhere would put four certain principles into operation they would always receive whatever they wanted from the Father. He used as His example the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5. After 12 years of suffering, see how she receives her healing:
- Say it. "For she said..." Positive or negative, whatever you say, you will receive. This woman could have said a lot of negative things complaining about her situation. Instead, when she heard about Jesus she said, "If I can just touch the hem of His garment, I shall be whole."
- Do it. If the woman had merely said something positive but stayed in her home, she would not have had any help. But she rose up and acted on her words: she went where Jesus was. Your words and corresponding actions will either defeat you or put you over the top. In her journey, the woman had to overcome major obstacles beyond just the weakness and frailty of her condition. An immense crowd pressed all around Jesus, so she had to crawl under their feet. Also, since she was unclean according to Jewish Law, she risked execution by stoning for daring to venture into public. Yet she journeyed out, putting her faith in action.
- Receive it. Touch Jesus. The Bible says that when she touched His garment, immediately she felt in her body that she had been made whole. At her touch, Jesus felt the same power go out of him without even knowing who had touched Him or why. Her faith through her words and actions made a demand on the anointing. Her touch completed the circuit just like turning on a light switch, and she received her healing instantly.
- Tell it. Now that the woman had received her healing she told others what had happened to her. Not only does your story, your testimony, reinforce your miracle, it dares others to believe and receive, too.
These same four steps are repeated as a pattern in many miracles in the Bible. Read the story of David and Goliath, and you'll see how one boy used them to deliver his people. You'll also see them in action for the prodigal son in Luke 15 and the leper in Matthew 8. As you position yourself in faith by operating in these principles, you, too, will move the hand of God. Make His promises a reality in your life!
Global Aid transforming generations
Haiti. Remember the school we helped build in Madame Beauge'? Locals there have always faced a treacherous commute to buy or sell goods, work, get medical care, etc. The only path to town was along a muddy ditch. Teachers could often only get to the school by foot, as cars or motorbikes get stuck. Well, when a local official recently saw the school and its benefit to the children, he built up the road all the way to the front door. Also, enrollment at the school has jumped, and it's being used after hours for adult job-skills training. This community is rising from the dust. Praise God!
India. Apostle PT Varghese just opened another Children's home in the state of Orissa to care for Christian children affected by violent persecution. A close partner with us since 1995, His ministry now encompasses a 1000-student school, two children's homes, a Bible School and the support of more than 200 native evangelists working throughout India and Nepal. Varghese is planning a visit during the service Wednesday, May 11.
Malawi. Thanks to you, another container is off to support the Victory Christian Children's Home and School in Bvumbwe. Though the home and its 125 children grow most of their own food and livestock, the 32K servings of vitamin-fortified rice meals we sent will supplement their diet for a year. Founders Charles and Gladys Trombley have managed daily operations for 18 years, but they're slowly delegating much to bright Malawians raised in the VCCH family. What a heritage!
Walking Miracle
"It felt like the Lord broke my hip!" That's how Kristina Martin (center), 25, a granddaughter of Pastor's brother, Bob, described the sensation she felt while lying at the altar during a leadership retreat at her church. She must've meant that in a good way, though. When she got up, she realized a miracle had occurred.
Kristina was born with a tendon disorder that drew up her legs. After a series of childhood surgeries, she could walk, but it's always been labored, on the tips of her toes with bent knees. "I had to stretch my feet every morning, and it hurt so bad," she said. "I took a lot of falls, and my knees were often bruised and scabbed." Doctors said there was nothing more they could do.
After listening to Pastor's recent messages on faith, Kristina began talking to her feet and legs, telling them to straighten up. Last month the Lord dramatically corrected one leg. Ten days later, the other one straightened out, too. "Both my hips are now even, and I am free from pain in both my feet when I get up in the mornings. I can do things I was never able to do before," she says. God's Word is medicine to all our flesh!

Last Month Results: Last Month's Results: Last month's question dealt with the uprisings in the Mid East. Unless you have land or loved-ones in the military or living in the region, you may be tempted to blow off keeping up with the sobering news from the region. But don't. Jerusalem is the apple of God's eye, and world events—even our economy—revolve around this area.
