On Feb 28, 2010, Pastor Greiner spoke on Believing the Blessing, the second message in a series on the subject. When he was finished, he pronounced a pastoral blessing (1.2 MB PDF) over the church family, laying hands on each person. We continue to see miracles of healing and provision imparted through that time. Bonus: it happened that the blessing service fell on the Festival of Purim, the joyous Jewish celebration of Esther defeating the plot of the evil Haman to destroy the Jews. Victory is ours!

In view of economic conditions now affecting the world, God's people more than ever must believe the blessing. According to the Word, every born again child of God is blessed with all spiritual blessings that Heaven itself enjoys. Jesus took all our curses so that we might be blessed. (Eph 1:3, Gal 3:13-14) Might indicates we must choose to appropriate by faith the blessing the blood of Jesus purchased. In fact, the word blessing means consecrated by the sprinkling of blood, set apart for holy purposes. It also means happiness, success, divine favor and promotion. Literally, we are blood blessed! When we receive communion, we come to the table of blessing to remember and celebrate what Jesus did - when He died on the cross, He took the curse and gave us the blessing.
The blessing is the heart of the gospel. The Bible says that the gospel was preached to Abraham when God told him that He would bless and multiply him. Galatians 3 says all who have faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. To believe the gospel then is to believe the blessing. The more this world experiences the curse of living apart from God, the more we as believers must experience the blessing of the Gospel. It isn't selfish or carnal to believe the blessing. On the contrary, God's blessing on you shows that Jesus is alive!
As we walk forward in 2010, let us remember the following:
- Continually claim the blessing over your health, finances, families, church, neighborhood, business, etc. (Eph 1:3)
- We are blessed to be a blessing! Let that fact live big as you release the blessing over others in love, service, financial aid, prayer, etc. (Gen 12:2)
- No one can curse what God has blessed. (Num 23 and 24) Instead of feeling victimized when others mistreat you, pray for them, knowing you are blessed. (1 Pet 3:9-13)
