Church Life
Areas to Serve
It takes a lot of behind-the-scenes sweat to make a church thrive. Of course, God's grace is great, too. If you want to add your heart and skills to help us out, we've listed a few great ways to get started. See something you're interested in or do you just want more ideas? Download this form (I Can Help form). If you like, you can fill it out and drop it by the welcome center in the GWC lobby or fax or email it to our office.
Nursery/Children/Youth (Sylvia Garay)
For more information about volunteering in this department, please see the "Volunteer in Children's Ministry" section.
Welcome Center (Frank and Trudy Hester)
Be a friendly face in the lobby, helping man the table where visitors and new members come to pick up materials and ask questions. Also guide existing members as they collect info and sign-up for various church events.
Ushers (Odis Smithers)
An extension of pastoral ministry, these gentlemen provide more than just a good seat. Bible veterans, they pray before each service, always ready to minister to people when a need arises. Because they're assigned the same section each service, they're usually the first to develop a caring bond with new regulars. Their job is to serve the congregation and keep order.
